The hotel was clean with very welcoming and pleasant staff from the Doorman to the Page to the Concierge. The room I stayed in was huge and complete with wine and bathrobes, as for instance. Everything was excellent, good value...

The restaurant was stunning for great food and cocktails here, I had wonderful dishes. The staff members were perfectly fine and exceptional. Marvellous setting for what I wanted.
As for me, the area was very busy.

Very friendly staff who were happy to carry bags and give guided tour of the room etc. Bathroom was truly beautiful, nice fluffy White towels and gorgeous period features. Breakfast selection was very good, both the continental and cooked options were well presented with lots of variety. Good local produce on the menu. Fab location for visiting Edinburgh castle and the town, literally 30 yards out the main train station!
The mattresses were very soft, making them almost uncomfortable. They do offer bed boards though (to apparently firm them up a little) as they have had comments regarding this before. Not enough milk offered for tea and coffee in your room every day, we ended up buying a pint and putting it in our mini fridge!
